Welcome To The Greensboro Galaxy Home PageThe Greensboro Galaxy Organization is a 501 ( c ) 3 non profit Organization based in Greensboro North Carolina. The Galaxy Organization is run by Rodney Westmoreland. He took over the organization in 1999 and re-established it with a vision to help uplift and promote youth participation, fitness and success. Shortly thereafter Viveca Wingfield came aboard as the Assistant Director of the Galaxy Organization.
The primary purpose of the Greensboro Galaxy Basketball Organization is to build character and confidence while instilling Christian values into the student athletes that are apart of our program. We strive to accomplish this mission using Basketball as a teaching tool. We also believe in promoting a strong family atmosphere that allows our parents to take leadership roles in our organization. To this end the Galaxy yearly have whats called Galaxy Day which is a day where all the teams come together and introduce themselves and the parents and players form each age group get a chance to build what will turn into lifelong relationships with each other. Within the basketball realm we promote honesty, hard work, fundamentals, integrity and team building. We don’t focus solely on winning rather we focus on playing the game the right way and we have found that if that is accomplished winning will follow. Additionally, it is a focus of ours through our Nothing But Basic Fundamentals skills development clinics and through the team practices to help each players develop her skills so that they can continue to play the game at the next level and beyond if she so chooses to pursue that goal. |
